App 2.0

I have recently been looking at some of the new Mac Apps and they seem to look very pleasing to the eye and have some interesting features. This got me thinking. Is there such a thing as App 2.0 or Application 2.0? There seems to have been a surge in innovative Apps like Cha-ching, Disco and apps features on My Dream App.

What do you think?
