I heard rumours that YouTube named their figure ($1.5b). Any idea who might bite at that price and the state YT is in, with all their problems?
Best,

Answers come in. Will it be Google? What do you think of that "unexpected" move?

Google would undoubtedly want to get their hands on that. How else will they become the internet tyrant? I wouldn't be suprised if the price dropped before they buy out though. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Well, call it good convincing power or whatever you want to, its final now. Google buying Youtube for a stock-in-stick transition for $1.65billion.
Now, thats is going to be a big sale but is Google prepared for it? Has google hired more lawyers? ![]() With copyright suits and issues, I am sure Google lawyers are going to be busier than never before. The thing to appreciate is that YouTube was started by a group of students in early 20's and hardly a year back in 2005. But it gained fame and traffic big enough to raise its worth to finally sell for $1.65 billion. WOW! Thats the power of Web2.0. YouTube provided power to users, respected their presence and democracy on net. They are reaping benefits of that approach. Cheers to power of Web2.0. The following press release from YouTube should provide you more details and information :- http://www.youtube.com/press_room_en...ry=HvfQ0AKougw |
